St. Patrick's Church Choir - The Crucifixion By John Stainer

The crucifixion by John Stainer is a Meditation on the scared passion of Jesus Christ also an oratorio composed by john stainer in 1887. it scored for a (soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) S.A.T.B, Organ and the piece featured solos for Bass (or Baritone) and tenor singers. John Stainer intended for the work to be within the performance capabilities of most parish Church choirs; it includes five (5) hymns  for congregational participation. the text of most tones in the book was written by W.J. Sparrow Simpson, The librettist of Strainer earlier Cantata Mary Magdalene. the choir of Marylebone church was the first choir to perform this book: The Crucifixion on February 24th, 1887 the day after ash Wednesday

This time around the book was completely performed by the St. Patrick's Anglican Church Choir on Saturday 11th April 2020 the day before Easter.
